Modern British Citizenship

At Stratton C of E Primary School we are committed to preparing our children for life in Modern Britain.

Guidance from the Department for Education states that all schools have a duty to promote the fundamental British values of:

  • Democracy

  • The rule of law

  • Individual liberty

  • Mutual respect

  • Tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs.

We promote these values in the following ways:

We aim for our children to have an understanding and appreciation of how decisions are made within the democracy which is modern Britain.

We aim for our children to have an understanding of how laws are made in Britain and why it is important for everyone to follow them.
